JUPITER : SATELLITE CALLISTO

Callisto's surface seen by Voyager.

The space probe Voyager took pictures of the surface of the Galilean satellites. On Callisto, this amazing image of a lined chain of impact craters was obtained.

These impacts remind us the break and the fall of the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 on Jupiter. It seems that this type of disaster is quite common.
