THE FIRST MISSION TO THE MOON

Once man has sent satellites orbiting the Earth, its next goal was of course the Moon. First a tour to see the hidden side and finally a landing giving us images of the lunar surface.

Many missions have been sent to the Moon before the Apollo program, some of which were failures. Note that the Luna and Surveyor probes were the beginning of the exploration of the solar system.
