ASTEROIDS : (4) VESTA

Image of the asteroid Vesta observed by the Hubble Space Telescope in 1997. This is a huge crater at the south pole (400 km in diameter) with its central peak. 

Vesta (576 km diameter) is the second largest asteroid in size and one of the three larger than 500 km in diameter. It has been observed by the space probe Dawn.
