The ionic propellant of the probe Deep Space One.

Deep Space One probe has sent us images of the asteroid (9969) Braille and comet Borrely..

The specificity of this probe is to have an ionic engine which provides a low but continuous force to push the probe. It also has an autonomous navigation system that avoids permanent monitoring from Earth. These systems are still in test but will become essential in the future.
