    This eclipse is the second partial eclipse of the XXIst century. It bears the number 7643 in the canon of Oppolzer and belongs to the Saros series number 124 of the canon of eclipses of Mucke and Meeus. In the canon of solar eclipses calculated by the IMCCE, this eclipse is 54th of the Saros number 172.

    This is a near-polar eclipse, it begins in Siberia just above the Arctic Circle and ends in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is visible in eastern Asia, the North Pacific Ocean and extreme west of the northern american continent (Alaska).
