    This eclipse is the last annular eclipse of the XXth century. Indeed, the four eclipses of 2000 are partial. It bears the number 7630 in the canon of Oppolzer and belongs to Saros series number 140 of the canon of eclipses of Mucke and Meeus. Its central path begins in the ocean Atlantic, southern Africa, and it crosses the Indian Ocean, Australia and ends in the west coast of Australia. It is visible in the form of a partial eclipse, as southern Africa, Madagascar, Malaysia, Indonesia and New Guinea.
