    This eclipse is the penultimate annular eclipse of the XXth century, the last one being on February 16, 1999 and the four eclipses of 2000 are partial. It bears the number 7629 in the canon of Oppolzer and belongs to the Saros series number 135 of the canon of eclipses of Mucke and Meeus. Its central path begins in the Indian Ocean and then through Indonesia, Malaysia and passes to the north of New Guinea and ends in the Pacific South.
