Le Verrier (1811-1877) He is encouraged by Arago to study unexplained disturbance motion of the planet Uranus. It then examines the existence of an unknown planet whose determines the orbit calculation and explain the disturbances suffered by Uranus.

September 23, 1846 , the planet Neptune, hitherto unknown , is observed at the location predicted by Le Verrier by Galle at the Berlin Observatory .
