SATELLITES OF PLUTO

Hydra, Charon and Pluto on the same picture taken by New Horizons.

The satellite Hydra

Thanks to the space probe New Horizons, we are able to have very good pictures of Pluton and Charon and also pictures, less detailed, of the other satellites.

Using ground-based telescopes, Pluto and its satellites appear as points. The HST succeeded to have some details on the surface of Pluto but only the pictures taken in situ could provide enough resolution to know these far iced worlds.
