SATELLITE OF MERCURY

Mercury has no known satellites. The proximity of Mercury and the Sun makes difficult to observe a possible satellite. Le Verrier could not interpret the excessive advance of the perihelion of Mercury, so, he supposed the existence of a planet between the Sun and Mercury but nobody found it and no more a satellite.

In 1974, the Mariner probe observed an object close to Mercury. A satellite was suspected but it was soon to get the evidence, it was nothing and Mercury still has no satellite ...
