MARS

Left, a drawing made by Antoniadi thanks to the large aperture 83cm telescope of the Observatory of Meudon. This powerful instrument shows definitively that the canals observed at the surface of Mars are optical illusions showing fortuitous structures of alignments on the Martian surface.
