SATELLITES OF SATURN

Credit :  J.E. Arlot, OHP/CNRS/IMCCE

The astrometric observation of the main satellites of Saturn encounters the high brightness of Saturn which dazzles receptors. For obtaining measurable satellite images against star field, we must process the images.

Above the same image with two different processings: to show the satellites (left) and to show stars (right).

S-3 : Tethys, magnitude 10,3

S-5 : Rhea, magnitude 9.7
