MAGELLAN PROBE

Two views of the surface of Venus by the Magellan probe.

The images opposite come from the Magellan probe. This probe observed the ground of Venus by radar. Indeed, clouds prevent us from having a direct view on the ground and these images were reconstructed from radar data.

At the top, an active volcano, the volcano "Sif Mons"; below the relief in the vicinity of Eistla Regio.
